ISO standards voting for the US

If you're based in the US and interested in participating in the technical committees that standardize various forms of documents, you need to know that the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to take over management of the US Technical Advisory Group for  ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 34. In particular, voting rights for SC34 standards for those based in the US is now through NISO. Organizations may join NISO to gain full participation rights, and many XML companies have done so.
