Release of XMLmind XML Editor v11.2

Enhancements:

  • Release of XMLmind XML Editor Web Edition version 1.8.1. See changes.
  • Updated our XXE_install_dir/addon/config/xhtml/xsd/5/xhtml5.xsd W3C XML Schema and our XXE_install_dir/addon/config/xhtml/xsd/5/xhtml5.sch Schematron to reflect as closely as possible what's specified in the HTML Living Standard 2026-03-20.

Updated the CSS and XSLT stylesheets accordingly. For example, added non-conforming, minimal support for the attribute srcset of element img:

    • If both attribute srcset and attribute src are specified, it's attribute src which is rendered by the styled view.
    • If only attribute srcset is specified, it's first specified image file which is rendered.
  • Updated FlatLaf to version 3.7.1 (On Linux, the "FlatLaf" light theme is used as the default Look & Feel.)
  • "Edit source" add-on: upgraded its RSyntaxTextArea components to version 3.6.3.
  • "WebP Support" add-on: upgraded TwelveMonkeys ImageIO to version 3.13.1.
  • Upgraded XMLmind Assembly Processor to version 2.0.5.
  • Upgraded XMLmind DITA Converter (ditac for short) to version 3.18.2.
  • Upgraded XMLmind Ebook Compiler (ebookc for short) to version 1.12.2.
  • Upgraded the XMLmind XSL-FO Converter (XFC for short) plug-in to version 6.7.0.
  • Upgraded the "Word To XML" add-on to XMLmind Word To XML version 1.14.1.
  • XMLmind XML Editor, which passed all non-regression tests, is now officially supported on Java™ 26 platforms.

Bug fixes:

  • If you choose a CSS stylesheet from the View menu for a certain document (e.g. "Emulate Web Browser" for an XHTML document) and then change the local used by XXE (e.g. "français (France) [fr-FR]" selected from the Locale combobox found in Options|Preferences, General section), reopening this document will render it as a tree view. It should display using the chosen CSS stylesheet, even if now its title has been translated to another language (e.g. "Emulate Web Browser" becomes "Émuler un Navigateur Web" in French). A partial bug fix is now to fallback to the default CSS stylesheet (e.g. "Sémantique" in French which corresponds to "Semantic" in English), which is less surprising than rendering the document as a tree view.
  • Windows only: XXE_INSTALL_DIR/bin/xxe.exe could pick a Java™ 1.8 runtime incapable of running XXE version 11+.
