Balisage: The Markup Conference (all virtual, all live) 2025 Program is now available!
https://www.balisage.net/2025/Program.html
Balisage, where serious markup practitioners and theoreticians meet every summer, announces the availability of the 2025 Preliminary Program*.
Balisage 2025 has developer insights, case studies, and war stories concerning all things markup, including (so far):
- Maintainable XSLT conversions
- Processing overlap and discontinuity with a new type of markup language/processor
- Introducing undergraduates to Invisible XML
- Why the Semantic Web failed
- Versioning in XML for a content management system
- Schematron as an interface to XSLT
- Processing XQuery using custom module URI resolvers
- Using XML in prompts to avoid LLM hallucinations
- Processing historical narrative recipes in a modern style
- Native Python support for XML
If you are interested in open information, reusable documents, and
vendor and application independence, then you need descriptive markup,
and Balisage is your conference. (Developers, programmers, academics,
business folks, government, consultants, students, and more are all welcome!)
Discussion at Balisage is open, candid, and unashamedly technical.
