SOAP Security Extensions extend the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) messaging environment to add features for sending secure SOAP messages. The Security Extensions add attributes for authorization, compliance with the XML Digital Signature specification for message authentication, and element-wise encryption for confidentiality. The extensions are available as part of the IBM Web Services Toolkit (WSTK), and as part of the SOAP Envelope Application Programming Interface (API) set of programming interfaces for manipulating SOAP.
