The United States Chief Information Officers Council (CIO) Enterprise Interoperability and Emerging Information Technology Committee created this site, a portal that will serve as a federal guide to XML, with the intent of guiding various US agencies as they implement XML for in-house solutions and to interoperate with vertical industries.

The site sections include a public posting of Standards and Guidelines, an "Efforts" area where the current progress of adopting agencies can be monitored, and a registry of government related Document Type Definitions (DTDs) and schemas.
