Headline Viewer is a Windows application that lets you see Rich Site Summary (RSS) "headlines" from a configurable list of news sources, mailing lists and weblogs. Doubleclicking on a headline allows the user to browse the complete item.

The application is preconfigured to download headlines from 768+ news sites, and the user can add, import and remove sites. There are also buttons for downloading the XML service list from my.userland.com (a master registry for syndicated content with 1687+ providers), downloading the XML service list from XMLTree (with much unique content from 366+ providers), and downloading a list of WebLogs from www.GrokSoup.com (with 34+ unique weblogs).

3100+ unique providers are currently accessible. Headline Viewer automatically handles all overlap between provider lists, automatically merging duplicate and aliased entries.

Windows 95/98/NT 4.0/2000 and Internet Explorer 5.0 or later are required.
