Project "eL": The XML Leningrad Codex

Date: Jan. 11, 2001
Link: http://www.leningradensis.org/
Source Author or Organization: Kirk E. Lowery, General Editor, Patrick Durusau, Technical Editor, Codex Markup Project

The XML Leningrad Codex markup project is producing a "mirror image" of the Leningrad Codex of the Hebrew Bible, encoded at the character/glyph level in Unicode and suitable for use in XML aware applications (such as word processors, database engines, and Web applications).

This is an open source project that invites the participation of the general public. The project's goal is to markup the entire manuscript and also produce a freely available Unicode Hebrew font.
