CaveScript, also known as CaveScript XML, is an open source suite of tools to assist speleologists with cave surveying and drawing cave maps.

The components include: Cave Survey Markup Language (CSML) with some Document Type Definitions (DTDs) for the language (primarily CaveSurvey.dtd and CaveMap.dtd), Perl conversion scripts for translating data to and from Survex format (svx2xml and xml2svx), and the CaveView application which reads CaveScript map files and outputs a Postscript file for printing.

CaveScript works on any platform supporting Perl. Documentation is in HTML and Postscript, and is also posted on this site.
