This article outlines the re-implementation of Duwamish Online category browsing using the new XML capabilities of Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The layered architecture for Duwamish Online, based on the Duwamish Books, Phase 4 n-tier design, contains five physical layers, where the one furthest from the database (the Presentation Layer) is driven by XML.
