Unicorn Formatting Objects is an eXtensible Style Language Formatting Objects (XSL FO) processor built upon the Unicorn eXtensible Style Language Transformations (XSLT) processor. The product is optimized for composition of business-style documents, such as catalogs, orders, invoices, and banking statements. The software can be used to generate output in PostScript, Portable Document Format (PDF) and all other formats supported by TeX DVI (DeVice Independent) drivers.

The XSL FO front-end transforms XSL FO trees into sequences of TeX macro calls. The XSL FO back-end is written in TeX macro language. Benefits of using TeX as the formatting engine include excellent typesetting quality, pre-built support for multiple output formats and pre-built support for multiple languages.

Unicorn Formatting Objects runs on Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95. The modern TeX distribution for Windows is required. The free license is downloadable with the distribution.
