The XHTML Basic specification defines a subset of XHTML 1.1 as an XHTML module document type, consisting of a minimal set of features (text, hyperlinks, forms, tables, images, and metadata) intended primarily for use on small footprint Web clients (mobile phones, PDAs, pagers, settop boxes).
