Molecular Dynamics Markup Language is used to help make sense of the huge amounts of data typical of chemical simulations. The language tags constructs such as atom, bond and molecule to mark up the simulation data in a MoDL file. The MoDL file is converted to a VRML world using a program that uses the Perl XML::Parser module, and the visualizations can then be viewed using a Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) plug-in inside a Web browser. This page includes links to a MoDL DTD, tutorial and authoring tool.
