Working Draft

Source Author or Organization: W3C

SMIL Boston is the code name for the next generation of SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language). The features, modules, and functionality described in this document will eventually be a part of SMIL v 2.0.

SMIL Boston provides an author with the ability to describe the temporal behavior of an online multimedia presentation, including (but not limited to): associating hyperlinks with media objects, describing the layout of the presentation on a screen, and integrating SMIL modules with XLink and XPointer. Addtionally, SMIL Boston modules are what XHTML-based will use for multimedia presentations.
