A description of Quilt, a combination of features from several sources to derive a new query language designed to be broadly applicable across all types of XML data sources (from documents to databases) and to exploit the full versatility of XML. Quilt draws from XQL, XML-QL, SQL, and OQL. It has chosen a human readable, rather than XML-based, query syntax, and also includes features to query relational databases.
