Tucana KnowledgeStore (TKS) is a Java-based Resource Description Framework (RDF) database that is optimized for metadata management and deployable as either a P2P or centralized architecture. It has a simple, SQL-like syntax and can scale up to a geographically distributed virtual database handling many terabytes.

TKS utilizes Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS), Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI), New I/O APIs for the Java Platform (NIO) and other late Java tecnologies, and its connectivity features include support for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), .NET, Blocks Extensible Exchange Protocol (BEEP) and the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition Connector Architecture (J2EE Connector).

TKS supports Linux, Solaris and Windows NT/2000/XP. A free 45-day evaluation copy is available to the general public, and a free academic, non-commercial version is available to the academic community.
