The XML Encryption Syntax and Processing Candidate Recommendation describes the syntax for encryption of XML, processing rules for encryption and decryption, message authentication and algorithms used for encryption and decryption. The relationship to XML Digital Signatures is discussed, and examples are given for a valid encrypted XML document and schema.
