Biomolecular Interaction Network Database (BIND)

Date: Jan. 9, 2002
Link: http://www.bind.ca/
Source Author or Organization: blueprint WORLDWIDE INC.

The license-free Biomolecular Interaction Network Database (BIND) database stores descriptions of molecular complexes and pathways and biomolecular interactions.

At the BIND site, users can download data and the source for BIND applications and may submit their own data via the online BIND Data Manager. The BIND database can be downloaded in four formats: XML, Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1) Binary (.val), ASN.1 ASCII (.prt) and Non-Redundant Protein Sequence Set (.fsa). It is also available as a free CD.

The BIND site includes links to a FAQ, related databases, the BIND Specification, developer materials, online help, free CD request and mailing list.

BIND's developer, the non-profit organization blueprint WORLDWIDE INC., was founded by IBM and MDS Proteomics with the intent of accelerating drug and medicine discovery via a comprehensive biomolecular data repository.
