The Sun XML Instance Generator is a Java-based command-line tool that will generate valid XML instances for various schema types.

Instance Generator supports a subset of the W3C's XML Schema, Regular Language Description for XML Next Generation (RELAX NG), RELAX Namespace, RELAX Core, Tree Regular Expressions for XML (TREX) and Document Type Definitions (DTDs).

The Instance Generator package, which includes a quick start tutorial, is distributed under an Apache Software License and Sun Binary Software License Agreement and is available as a free download (brief registration required). Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.3 and Sun Multi Schema Validator (MSV) are required.
