SMILGen is a Python–based, open source XML and Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) development tool for the RealOne platform.

The editor supports SMIL 1.0, SMIL 2.0, RealPix and any XML language that does not use #PCDATA (a future version will add support for XML languages that allow inline attributes and #PCDATA).

SMILGen supports Windows 98/NT/2000, LinuxPPC and Linux Red Hat 7.0. It requires Python 1.5.2 or later, Tkinter, the default Python xmllib and Pmw.
