Java APIs for XML Messaging (JAXM) describes a programming interface for packaging and transporting business messages and transactions over on-the-wire protocols.

JAXM has its roots in Java Message Service (JMS), and implements both Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) 1.1 with Attachments.

Using JAXM with electronic business Extensible Markup Language (ebXML) provides developers with a simplified, standardized method for XML-based business messaging that alleviates the need for a lot of low level programming.

Also included in this release is a family of "pluggable" messaging Profiles.
