Java API for XML Registries (JAXR) provides a standard and uniform interface for accessing all registries from within Java.

Currently, Web application developers must deal with a number of distributed registries, each with its own Application Programming Interface (API) or protocol. In some cases, specifications overlap, such is the case with electronic business Extensible Markup Language (ebXML), eCo Framework and Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI). JAXR aims to unify these different approaches so that they may each be utilized as needed in an automatic fashion.
