XML Linking and Style

Note

Source Author or Organization: W3C

This Note represents the result of an XML Linking/XSL joint task force created to describe the issues surrounding the interaction of XLink linking elements and styling that has not previously been described previously.

This Note introduces a model for describing those interactions, and suggestions for the application of that model. An appendix also suggests changes to Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) to prevent XLink problems during transformations. It also provides a clear conceptual model for linking and styling, along with suggestions for how that model can be applied using the current batch of W3C Recommendations (and Working Drafts, Candidate Recommendations, and Proposed Recommendations).
