With assistance from partners Commerce One, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Inc. and ValiCert, Inc., Visa International has developed the Visa Global XML Invoice Specification.

The Visa XML Invoice vocabulary will help Visa automate transactions for the commercial business-to-business (B2B) and consumer markets as well as the Travel and Entertainment (T&E) spending sector across 35 countries and on the Web. The standard will help the company manage transactions across regions, languages and industries and is available for use by others. Downloading the documentation requires user registration. Available documents include: the Visa XML Invoice Specification itself, a Visa XML Invoice Implementation Guide, Visa Code Lists and Data Elements, usage examples, a sample DTD and an Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) stylesheet.
