Guideline XML

Source Author or Organization: Edifecs Commerce

The goal of gXML is to provide a means for companies to facilitate the exchange of e-commerce guidelines using XML, and to simplify the integration of EDI translators, validation engines, forms builders, and specification tools. gXML documents are designed to be simple and self-contained and follow the logical structure of the message to be exchanged.

Edifecs is the home of the gXML specification. A detailed gXML specification and a DTD for validating if a guideline is gXML-compliant can be downloaded from the "Resources" section of www.edifecs.com.

gXML is supported by leading tools such as Edifecs SpecBuilder, Softshare Delta, TIE Atlas, and Sterling Commerce's GENTRAN. Guidelines from X12, EDIFACT, CompTIA, and ATA are available in gXML from the Edifecs-affiliated site www.commercedesk.com.
