The XML Information Set (XML Infoset) specification provides a set of definitions (in the form of an abstract data set containing a document information item, an element information item, and so on) that other XML specifications can reference. This provides organizational assistance for people working with the data items in the specifications.

This document is home to the RDF Schema for the XML Information Set, a Resource Description Framework (RDF) schema that serves as a formal description of the XML Infoset specification. The comments at the top of the schema give the RDF schema's namespace name and track the XML Information Set version. When properties and infoitems are changed by a new XML Infoset specification, a new RDF schema with a new namespace name will be provided.
