Chemical Markup Language (CML) 1.0 Reference is an Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) -based interactive reference for CML, an XML application for the management of chemical information. The Reference also serves as a CML tutorial.

The main interface has three indexes covering CML elements, CML attributes and illustrative examples. In the element index clicking an element name shows a list of its attributes, then clicking an attribute name drills down to a list of elements sharing that attribute. The attribute index lets the user start with attribute names to find associated elements. The examples index links to approximate 3D representations of molecules and graphs of spectra. Each example is available in either Portable Network Graphics (PNG) or Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format, and was created from CML using XSLT. CML source code is listed below each example, and clicking upon an atom in the graphic takes the user to that atom in the CML source.

The indexes were built from the CML 1.0 specification, and examples from information at the CML home page.
