XML Canon/Developer (XCD) is a design-time repository for centralized management and distributed access to an organization's XML assets. A free evaluation copy is available for download.

XCD provides a Web-based interface for distributed development, reuse and deployment of instance documents, stylesheets, Document Type Definitions (DTDs), XML schemas and other project elements. XML vocabularies and grammars can yield a component-level data dictionary for an entire organization, and company vocabularies can be merged with those of XML applications such as BizTalk or CommerceOne.

XCD also offers indexing at the asset level (such as DTDs) and the component level (such as elements and attributes), searching (using captured metadata) and namespace management. Staging, tracking and reporting features are available to administrators.

XCD integrates with XML Authority and other Turbo XML applications. It supports Windows 2000, Windows NT (SP6A), HP-UX 11.0, HP-UX 11i, Linux (Intel x86) Linux kernel v 2.2.12 and glibc v 2.1.2, Solaris SPARC 2.6, Solaris SPARC 7, Solaris SPARC 8, Solaris SPARC x86 2.6, Solaris SPARC x86 7, and Solaris SPARC x86 8.
