Sesame is an RDF Schema-based Repository and Querying facility developed by Aidministrator Nederland. The system was developed as one of the key deliverables of On-To-Knowledge, a European Information Society Technologies (European IST) project developing tools and methods for supporting knowledge management that rely on sharable and reusable ontologies.

Sesame employs RDF Query Language (RQL), an Object Query Language (OQL) -like language in development at Institute of Computer Science - Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (ICS-FORTH), for expressive querying of RDF resource descriptions and Schema information. Sesame is not limited to RDF, it also offers direct support for RDF Schema semantics.

The Sesame site provides an online demo where users can perform queries and view several sample queries, documentation in PDF or HTML format, and a list of related links including an RQL tutorial.
