This Note describes an alternative Resource Description Framework (RDF) encoding for the vCard personal profile format.

A vCard profile contains information about an individual (such as mail address, delivery address, company, phone number) to serve as an electronic business card for Personal Data Interchanges (PDIs). This document defines RDF property types for all vCard types. A vCard profile expressed in RDF uses an XML Namespace (the vCard Namespace is http://www.w3.org/2001/vcard-rdf/3.0#), which removes the need to support the VCARD Profile and VERSION type. RDF/XML encoded vCards will be known as RDF vCards.
