Snippet Central is a public library of code snippets for several topics and development languages, including Active Server Pages (ASP), Java, Javascript, Perl, Visual Basic (VB), Wireless Markup Language (WML), XML Path Language (XPath), Extensible Style Language Transformations (XSLT), and XML-based User Interface Language (XUL).

In addition to providing a code resource, the library allows developers to have their code tried and commented upon. Snippets may also link to information about, and other snippits and articles by, the snippet author. The six most prolific snippet submitters are rewarded with free Microsoft software on a monthly basis, with a grand prize every six months. Prizes include: Windows 2000 Professional, Office 2000 Premium, Flight Simulator 2000 Professional Edition and BackOffice 2000.
