Derby

Version: 1.1
Company: GAEL Consultant

Overview

Derby is a an integrated environment easing the access, the selection, the transformation and rendering of data disregarding their physical format. It handles binary files for which the logical as well as the physical scheme are described by configurable and extended XML Schemas. Derby extends the latest XML technologies to the non-XML documents and is therefore very efficient accessing Earth Observation products (i.e. Space Engineering data) up to the slightest bit of data . For instance, Derby supports all ENVISAT products including Level 0 which the format is close to the telemetry. The opened architecture of Derby will enable to handle databases, ZIP archives, tar archives, http, ftp protocols and many additional formats. A XQuery processor selects, filters, compares, computes and transforms data from an unlimited number of documents according to XQueries that are easily managed through a user-friendly editor. As for the most advanced development environments, the editor provides the necessary guidance to edit effective scripts using syntax highlighting and automated completion. The extracted, transformed data are therefore, rendered into fully configurable tables, plots, images, reports (HTML or PDF) or stored into one of the handled formats. Layouts of the output reports are defined by the new XML Stylesheet Language including Transformation (XSLT) and Formatting Objects (XSL-FO). Derby software is essential when effective manipulations of data are required, as complex as they can be.

Typical Applications: Space engineering data analysis and manipulation.

Availability: Derby is available.
