XML Authority
Version: 1.1
Company: Extensibility, Inc.
Overview
XML Authority is a visual development tool for creating and managing DTDs and schemas. It displays a view of a schema in two panes: one is a graphical tree representation and the other is a tabular listing used to define elements and attributes.
This product supports SGML DTDs as well as many different schema proposals including the recent working group draft. You might think of the different schema proposals as different syntatic formats for representing the same basic information. Thus, you can use a consistent interface to create a DTD or schema and save the result in any of the formats you choose.
XML Authority is also able to infer a DTD from a document instance. This capability is useful as a way of getting started creating DTDs or schemas from sample data. It also can be used to create schemas for Java classes.
Since the big difference between schemas and DTDs is that the former will support data typing, XML Authority provides a way to specify data types. (It saves this information as attributes in a DTD and in the particular syntax of specified schema proposal.) You can also use
XML Authority to validate existing DTDs.
