Overview

Media Fusion Co., Ltd., of Amagasaki, Japan, is active in developing and using data technologies based on XML.

XML Agent is a small scale prototype of our large scale native xml database engine. We are making the prototype available under an open license agreement (free for non-profit use) for evaluation and experimentation.

Features:
• Implemented in Delphi.
• COM API callable from VB, VC, Perl, and Ruby.
• No DTD dependence -- accepts well-formed XML.
• Stores XML in native form without corrupting document structure.
• Includes simple proprietary query language inspired by XPath.
• Distribution under open license allows high degree of customization.

Limitations:
• Certain query functions for this prototype were implemented by way of a 3rd party RDB backend, which requires separate installation. This is transparent to the programmer, however, as no database schema definitions are necessary.
