Xerpent

Version: 2.1
Company: Xerpent Inc.

Overview

Xerpent is a java based content management (CM) and production system (Workflow) which includes the following building blocks:

* Powerful and portable Application Server which uses the open XML-RPC protocol to give the clients access the CM API (300+ functions).

* XSL based content generation (HTML) with Template caching for high performance. Typical production time is less than 500 ms (using a real 3000+ line XSL file!) on a cheap Linux box.

* XML Editor which allows only the XML elements according to the given DTD/Schema during editing to minimize input errors. Tight integration of the Image Database System, the Link Database and the Glossary Database.

* Image Database. All Images will be converted to all formats and sizes which will be used. Easy XML based configuration of new formats and image sizes.

* XML database. In addition to the typical access into the XML content through the Workflow system on a file system base the same content could be stored in a "flattened" XML database repository.
XPATH-Queries could be used to get access to specific elements, collections etc. Good for "intelligent" usage of content and/or search engines.

* All the needed data is beeing stored in a fast mySQL database. No expensive commercial database required. Connections to any JDBC-compatible database system supported.

* XML-RPC as the central protocol provides client support for Java, Perl, PHP, Tcl/TK, Phyton, Visual Basic, COM etc.

* Administration tool to define ressorts, sections, staff members, member rights, planning the articles, controlling the workflow, changing the workflow etc.

* optional Ecommerce package.

* optional PDF package (FOP)

* multi language (english, german etc.)

* Open Source tools whereever possible.

* We`re also programming customer specific modules.

* Consulting services on site available.
