BackStream stores its content by means of any of a choice of storage methods: relational databases (Oracle, DB2 and MS SQL server), XML databases (Tamino, X-Hive) as well as filesystems. Built around XML, it is also capable of handling and transforming any other type of content, including images, audio and video.
