Overview

Informix Object Translator is a data integration tool that consists of both a GUI development environment (Win32) and a runtime (Java(TM) 2 platform, Standard Edition) that makes it easier to build multi-tier Web applications with Informix or Cloudscape databases. It is designed to enable developers to build high performance, data-driven XML applications using the Java(TM) platform faster and more easily.

The front end GUI enables users to visually map objects to relational tables without writing code, these objects can be Java classes, XML documents or Visual Basic components. For Java classes and XML documents the runtime is written entirely in Java, enabling the generated XML mapping objects to run in a middle tier application server such as BEA Weblogic(TM) or Apache Tomcat on any platform that has a Java Virtual Machine.
