Overview

XML Suite is composed of XML-Server, Visual-XML, XwingML, and XML-Contact.

XML Server, which runs in the background on a server and generates XML by interfacing with database-oriented document handler components that you create.

XML Server’s interfaces include HTTP, SSL, FTP, e-mail and JavaBean. Future versions, the vendor claims, will support DCOM, database triggers, message queues, RMI, IIOP, EJB, JMS, scheduling and MTS.

Visual-XML, a design tool for creating XML Server document handlers as well as editing XML, Java and DTD files

XwingML, a development platform for merging XML and Java code allows users to create (in common English) XML documents that generate Java Swing classes to create graphical user interfaces.

XML-Contact is for the Palm Computing Platform, an application utilizing XML to connect devices to the enterprise world via XML.

Typical Applications: Interactive databases and web publishing

Availability: Server run on any system that supports Java, including NT, Unix. Clients include any Java JDK 1.2-enabled browser. Clients and servers can run on different operating systems.
