Overview

Interwoven TeamSite 4.2.1 software enables organizations to accelerate their Web initiatives with an expanded hybrid architecture that supports versioning of both file system and database assets, an easy-to-use workflow engine, access to Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions, Multi-byte support, improvements in high-availability, and support for Microsoft Windows 2000.

Hybrid Architecture

The TeamSite hybrid architecture gives organizations the power to use file system content without any costly and impractical retrofitting of content into a database. This also enables native file system content such as streaming media and application code to be properly managed. With enhancements for managing database content, TeamSite Templating can now automatically store content to a database whenever content is created or updated.

Easy-to-use Workflow Engine TeamSite's robust workflow engine enables organizations to manage content, improve project management and ensure content integrity. And now with an improved user interface, users can quickly identify tasks assigned to them and manage their assignments. This ensures a shorter development cycle and greater control over the production process.

Support for Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions

TeamSite provides support for Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions enabling improved access to FrontPage Webs and Visual InterDev projects directly from within TeamSite.

Multi-byte support

Teamsite 4.2.1 now provides support for content entry and display of both single-byte and multi-byte content. This includes the ability to manage metadata in local languages allowing content to be more easily searched and shared across multiple initiatives. In addition, TeamSite now supports the use of multi-byte comments for all workflow events which enables the entire content lifecycle to be managed in local languages.

High Availability (HA)

The TeamSite High Availability Server, an add-on module, provides an extra level of protection for your organization's information assets to support business-critical 24x7 operations. TeamSite HA provides a new and improved failsafe module to protect content stored in TeamSite by regularly storing in-cache content to the disk to facilitate recovery and minimize down-time when running in continuous operations.
