I think adding a "curse" element to the vocal-effects palette would be useful. For example, when a character says "@!!#*!" that would be represented by <curse/>.

  I think what you're looking for is not an element but more of a entity, like '&curse;', that would make a bit more sense.

  That's a brilliant suggestion, actually. I guess I'm used to reading "mature" comics where the characters usually just come right out with it, but even then you sometimes see those naughty squiggles.
