I'm by no means an expert in this area so apologies if this is a naeve question. I can see in principle how this appraoch could be very helpful but think I must be missing something. In order to generate the XUpdate do you not have to compare the new values passed from the form with the old values in the XML instance document? Is there an easy and quick way to do this? Also, how should data validation of the new data be handled and the user informed of any problems? It seems to me that there is a lot of work needed to process the data returned by form which is perhaps rightly left out of the article. However, due to my lack of experience I feel this is perhaps the area I need explained in more detail. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Cheers Ian
