...some people really despise Microsoft. In the context that you are viewing SOAP, yes, HTTP is most likely more efficient. But there are other uses. I do have a question though. Do you think it will be easy to use HTTP in conjunction with a web service written in C#? I am rather new to the programming world so go easy on me. And for the people who say it's all about money... You're damn right it is. This is a capitalist society we live in. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. It is my sincere hope that Microsoft and all other software corporations NEVER stop pushing the envelope (no pun intended) and always evolve software and standards into something better. Viewed in small steps, some things look like a step backward, but "the road ahead" isn't always mapped out clearly. <G> Be well, Soukyan
