Hi: First, the comment, then I read the article. What do you think about that?
XLink was one of the most exciting concepts I have ever come across. In 1998, I put up this:

Boy, was I wrong! You know, if XLink was developed as originally envisioned, P2P, copyright issues, e-commerce, and all the rest of the enormous problems we are facing, today, would have been far different. My feeling, and maybe your article will shed light on it, is that M$ and the other "sponsors" shelved this remarkable potential, because they knew what tremendous empowerment it would bring to the undeveloped nations seeking to level the Internet playing field. Now, on to reading your article.
