 The XPath 2.0 Data Model
Subject: Dumb newbie question
Date: 2007-03-01 07:23:28
From: Paeon

Trying to get my brain around Xpath. First, do I need to learn XPath 1 or XPath 2?
Second, what is the difference between an atomic value and a text node? Is an atomic value always a literal string?

Is there a better place to ask really ignorant questions?

Start with XPath 1. 2 is an extension of that.

For more detailed issues, the xml-dev mailing list is a good place to ask and will get a wealth of responses: http://www.xml.org/xml/xmldev.shtml
