This is great article that gives good understanding of the concept. But, I think CD analogy to explain difference between SOA and Object Oriented needs to be changed. As an Object Oriented designer, i would not write behavior to play on CD class. That is creating other problems that you referred as artificial dependency. You should always have CD player. Object oriented design teaches to relate objects with real world, it teaches lot of reuse.
Otherwise, Article has great information.

Well I think you have got it wrong. The author tries to explain with the CD example that in OOPS, you have data and the code that processe the data together (fileds and methods in a class) equating this with the example you have a CD and a designated CD player. As opposed to SOA you have generic form of data and the code i.e. a CD (data) that can be played on any player (code).
