Hi.. This is really an informative article.. Perhaps i was working on the concept of XML databases and have collected information through various sources and wrote a small paper. The abstract is as follows..
XML has been widely accepted in the industry today as a means of information exchange between various business processes. It has found its applications in areas where the structural information depicts patterns of irregularity. Thus, the need to manage large amount of XML data has become increasingly significant. We give an overview of the industrial practices that are followed in the field of XML databases and describe two well known indexing schemes - RRC and Index Fabric. We also draw a comparison between two well known formats of XML Databases i.e. XML-Enabled Databases and Native XML Databases(NXD).
