Just goes to show the value (for the 1000th time) of actually testing the code you write about, even when it's something as obvious as '@' signs on attributes. You're also correct on ftcontains: it's overkill, and a simple '=' would have done equally (pun intended) as well. Hmmm, a short discussion in the followup article on string comparisons and collations might be interesting ... Howard
