Hello: It's now October 14th and the W3C has not rejected RAND. Unfortunate. This is not about "saving face". This is about developing countries participating in the Information Age. Shameful behaviour on the part of those presently at the W3C hurts those who need the support of, and reassurance of knowing that there is a body looking out for their interests.
For the moment, though, does anyone know what the status of SVG is, as there are marvelous opportunities within the developing world for this recommendation. How is the logjam of crappola going to be short-circuited? Corporate sponsors and corporate patent-holders are moving right along. The poor, disadvantaged, and untold tens of thousands that could benefit, are stalled at a standstill. My apologies to the poor, disadvantaged who would rather I didn't bandy their unfortunate circumstances around so flippantly. Thanks, Tom
