Maybe off topic, but what about integrating query with semantic web in a case like that. And again is it possible to do something with musicbrainz who being an open organization should be more available to experiments like theese.

  Not off-topic at all! I mentioned semweb possibilities in the article, and if I have time and energy will provide an XQuery script in the followup article that converts the Oscars file to RDF. I haven't looked at musicbrainz in quite a while so I don't know about its relevance. In any event if somebody wants to do something in that realm, the data will be available for them to do so.
