Boy howdy on that one.


The problem too many ignore in standards building is the size of the legacy installed and the editor/designers don't read enough RFPs that legislate that the legacy will be carried forward. For that reason, a lot of new XML application languages start out as interchange formats. They might become the new data dictionary, but seldom in their initial form. A good example of this is GJXDM. This practice makes the design of aggregate languages quite problematic.
