I've developed some Emacs tricks for working with DocBook, particularly index tags, that I described at http://www.snee.com/bob/sgmlfree/emcspsgm.html#docbook. Most are PSGML related, but I'm sure I'll adapt the "Inserting Index Tags" one to nxml the next time I need to do an index. The "Coloring Index Elements" has nothing to do with PSGML and should be handy to Emacs/DocBook users who are working on index entries.
